The Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group is a non profit organization working in King and Kitsap counties to help communities restore habitat for endangered wild Puget Sound salmon. Mid Sound is a boots-on-the-ground group that organizes and implements projects to plant trees along streams, helps private landowners fix fish passage blockages on their property, removes armoring along shorelines that is damaging to fish, and restores in stream habitat. Mid-Sound is working with Redhook, King County, and Stewardship Partners to organize a restoration project next to their brewery along the Sammamish River to remove invasive plants and replant with native trees. To celebrate this partnership, Redhook’s success in becoming Salmon-Safe certified, and Earth Day, Redhook will be donating a portion of the proceeds of the sales of their Salmon-Safe beer to Mid Sound for one week.
Between Tuesday, April 18th, and Tuesday, April 25th, you have three ways to support the Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group and enjoy some great Redhook products:
- Go to the Forecasters Pub at the Redhook Brewery in Woodinville and order either the Copperhook or Upstream Salmon-Safe Lager. The beers will be on sale all week at the pub, but there will also be two special events you can attend: on April 18, check out the Salmon-Safe Beer Release Party from 5-8pm, and on April 22, celebrate Earth Day with Salmon-Safe Beer specials all day.
- Go to other Seattle restaurants and bars that serve Redhook and order their Copperhook beer on draft.
- Go online to the Redhook website and buy one of their Redhook hydroflasks.
A portion of the proceeds of all of those sales that week will be donated by Redhook to the Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group to celebrate Earth Day and Redhook’s Salmon-Safe certification.
A big congratulations to Redhook for becoming Salmon-Safe certified and a big thank you to Redhook for including Mid Sound in their celebration and helping to support our salmon restoration work!
